Best Commercial Pressure Washer Reviews

This Kranzle commercial pressure is a very versatile machine, fit to fight all kinds of dirt and much. This is a vertical pressure washer, making storing this unit not a problem.

this Kranzel pressure washer does weigh around 80 pounds, so it’s not the lightest of machines, but yet it’s still quite portable. The body rests on two large rear wheels. I love this 2-wheel system; it makes pressure washers incredibly portable.

The overall design is quite traditional, with plastic covers and a steel structure underneath.

This is an electric pressure washer, which means no gas exhaust, no oil, gasoline, and less noise.

Unlike a residential machine, this uses a 15-amp motor and can exert 1400 PSI at 2.0GPM, giving it a total cleaning power of 2800. This isn’t the strongest most powerful electric pressure washer out there. It will still tackle any task thrown at it.

For me this is the best pressure washer for car detailing, look at any top rated car detailer and they’ll most likely be using a Kranzle pressure washer for car detailing , it’s what i’ve installed in my car port.

Pros

  • This is a pressure washer with is very adaptable, you can use it with any socket or outlet capable of supporting it with power without interruption
  • The pump and motor have been designed to work for multiple hours without breaks, no need to stop.
  • You get a 50 foot-long high-pressure hose with a reel for storing, you won’t have any issues reaching every part of your yard.

Cons

  • This is considered to be on the lower side of the power spectrum when it comes to commercial pressure washer power, it’s not a high-pressure machine.
  • You don’t get an extra quick-connect nozzles

Sun Joe is a renowned manufacturer of garden machinery and pressure washers in general, they create some fantastic residential machines. This is one of their commercial offerings and it’s packed with loads of useful features.

The design is minimalistic, with a simple frame and the well-known Sun Joe black and green design. Like most pressure washers, this is a 2-wheel design, which gives you fantastic maneuverability and convenience.

This pressure washer comes in at 60 pounds, making it actually one of the lightest commercial units on this list.

As an electric pressure washer, this has been designed to bring sustainability and ergonomics to the washing game. It’s got a total cleaning power of 2600 from its 13.5 amp motor which produces 1300 PSI at 2.0GPM, while this won’t strip paint, everything else is fair game.

Pros

  • You get a sizeable 1-gallon detergent tank and this unit comes with a dedicated spray soap nozzle
  • You get 4 additional quick connect nozzles that allow you to adjust the pressure and spray pattern to the job at hand
  • It’s incredibly light and also one of the quietest.

Cons

  • The total cleaning power of this commercial pressure washer is 2600, which means it won’t be able to handle those heavy-duty cleaning tasks. But it’s perfect for those delicate cleaning jobs.
  • The hose reel is a bit clunky, though improved after tightening

Annovi Reverberi offers a wide range of models, with this one being somewhat different to most. The body of this pressure washer is rather different than your average pressure washer, hell, different even that most commercial models.

This unit is designed to be mounted onto a wall or a work surface, It’s designed in the standard Ar blue, and the pipes etc. are black/brass.

This isn’t a light machine, it weighs 69 pounds, but as this is mounted to a surface, that shouldn’t be a problem.

Unlike other electric commercial power washers, this doesn’t have a wheel transport system, but it still has a lot to offer. One of the fantastic features of this pressure washer is that you can use this pressure washer with hot water during the washing process.

It has a 19-amp motor that provides 1900 PSI at 2.1 GPM giving you a total cleaning power of 3990.

Pros

  • You can use hot water for pressure washing, all the way up to 180° F
  • For its size, it provides a lot of cleaning power
  • The spray wand can be extended, and the head allows you to change the angle of water spraying.

Cons

  • The unusual design of this pressure washer is rather unique and limits its use
  • While you can use a 15-amp breaker, experience has shown this works best with a 20-amp breaker

This is an entry-level commercial pressure washer, it’s mounted on a steel frame and moves around thanks to its 2-wheeled system. As you can imagine it’s colors are Sun Joes Black and green,

This commercial pressure washer model is an entry-level machine due to its adaptable power, and the ergonomic “plug and play” approach, its 13.5-amp motor can be plugged virtually anywhere.

The pump can produce 1800 PSI at 1.6 GPM, giving it a total cleaning power of 2880.

This isn’t the most potent pressure washing model, but it can tackle a wide variety of cleaning tasks and run for hours.

  • You get a large soap tank with a soap quick-connect nozzle for tackling those extra-hard stains

What Are Professional Pressure Washers Used For?

Like a residential pressure washer, a professional pressure washer is designed to take water, pressurize it to higher than tap levels to aim it cleaning.

Amazon product

If you are having a hard time imagining that, just imagine a garden hose which produces enough power from the water jet to strip paint.

Finding the correct task for such a powerful machine is easy enough, especially when talking about commercial grade pressure washer models.

The distinction between a regular residential model and a commercial pressure washer is in the performance and endurance. Commercial units are made to handle bigger loads, and the intricate machinery parts come with longer-lasting materials.

Now I’m not saying a residential model won’t perform well, it’s just they aren’t designed to withstand longer cleaning session or handle those incredibly tough stains.

Even if you aren’t a commercial shop owner or a professional, that doesn’t mean a commercial power washer isn’t for you, perhaps you have a large yard or want a machine that’s designed to last. In those cases, you might consider getting a commercial unit for its water consumption, power, and longevity.

But what can you clean with a professional unit? What can of stains and dirt can you defect with a commercial device?

Backyard cleaning

The very first job you may think of is cleaning your back or front yard. A commercial power washer excels at spring cleaning, where you’ll spend hours getting your hard and house ready for spring & summer. Washing away the dirt and grime from winter.

Just imagine having the raw power to remove all that residual dirt from last years’ rains and snows.

Besides cleaning concrete and fences, you will be able to wash all the metalwork around the house. Gullies, gutters, garage doors, and many more are fair game if you want to get that old, good-as-new shine out.

Washing boats and Cars

This is a question I hear frequently, will I be able to clean my car/boat with a commercial pressure washer. Yes, in fact, I personally feel that a commercial pressure washer is well suited to washing your boat, more so than a residential model due to how long it can take to get the task done.

Commercial pressure washers are designed for long periods of use.

Though bear in mind that designed to handle different levels of abuse, so make sure that you use the appropriate nozzle, distance, and if your commercial pressure washer supports, it adjust the pressure to deal with the surface you are cleaning.

High pressure washers can strip paint off of cars! Make sure to be sensible, and if you adjust the pressure to match the surface, then nothing can stop you.

Patio and Yard Furniture Cleaning

Dirt sticks to your garden furniture, bird poop, seasonal dirt from rain, etc. With a pressure washer, you can quickly clean all of that dirt away.

Cleaning your patio and furniture is one of the main reasons why people purchase a commercial pressure washer, it makes the task of cleaning an incredibly simple one.

Keeping your furniture clean actually increases its lifespan, so it’s best to remove that dirt

Washing desks, stables, farms and all sorts of outdoor floors

Outdoor floors and surfaces can be a hassle to clean. These surfaces are usually rather significant,  and no one wants or has the time to spend all day holding a hose and a brush.

Pressure washers are designed to make light work of these surfaces and can tackle them with ease. Just make sure to test the pressure on a small patch of the surface before going full steam if you’ve ever tried to clean a deck, you’ll know how much of a pain it is to clean within the grooves, not something you need worry about with a commercial pressure washer.

Grills and other greasy surfaces

I do this frequently, after using your BBQ or smoker it will get greasy and covered in soot, it’s just par for the course with these.

You don’t want to scrub those surfaces with an abrasive and using cleans can taint future cooks, this is where a commercial pressure washer shines, it will strip the soot and grease off of your bbq and smoker without the need of abrasives and cleaners, it’ll get into all of those nooks and crannies making the job super simple.

Cold water vs. Hot water?

This is a debate that has never been settled, cold vs. hot water in a pressure washer. To be honest, I feel that cold water will do the job just fine.

But both cold and hot water pressure washers have their ups and downs. Unfortunately, there is no clear answer over which is better, it really all depends on your demands and needs and the surface you are going to clean.

There aren’t a lot of pressure washer models that use hot water for the whole process. Hot water power washers also come at a premium, due to the complexities of using hot water, a lot of pressure washers rely on the cold water feed to cool the engine and pump, this isn’t possible with a hot water power washer.

The main benefit of a hot water pressure washer is its ability to tackle oil and grease with much higher efficiency than that of a cold water pressure washer.

Fat and cold water, well, it becomes a solid and doesn’t want to move!

So instead of blasting the grease with cleaning products, hot water easily shifts it. If you are intended to cleaning heavily-greased surfaces  (e.g., car workshops, outdoor grills), hot water will be your friend.  There may be a need to add some soap, but the amount you will need will be drastically reduced by using a hot water pressure washer.

Though cold water pressure washers tend to operate at much high pressure levels. Higher pressure often translates to larger-scale cleaning projects, and a harder punch directed towards stains.

Although it will not clean oil stains as well as its hot-water counterpart, cold water pressure washers will get the job done with the aid of soap & detergent.

However, even though they are somewhat equal, there is a task that only a hot water power washers can do, which makes it stand out. We are talking, of course, about none other than chewing gum. If you ever tried to clean chewing gum out of the driveway, you know that cold water will only make it harden and stick even stronger. Hot water, on the other hand, makes the gum mushier, and it gets it to detach from the concrete surface in a matter of seconds.

Gas or Electric Commercial Pressure Washers?

Amazon product

Choosing the right type of power washer comes down to your needs. For most, a commercial electric pressure washer will do the job as long as you aren’t remote. They are designed for long periods of cleaning.

But if you need some serious cleaning power, then it comes down to commercial gas pressure washers every time. The sad fact is that commercial electric pressure washers can not compete when it comes to power.

So what are the differences between gas and electric commercial pressure washers

Gas-powered commercial pressure washer

If you are a fan of old-school machinery or appliances that can provide an extra powerful kick, then gas is the way to go. Gas engines are just more potent than their electric counterparts.

  • No electrical cord, gas engines have all they need on board to keep them going, they are highly portable all they need is a water source
  • Power, put simply a gas pressure washer produces drastically more PSI and GPM than is capable via an electric motor. Though test your surface first as a gas pressure washer can destroy a surface
  • Exhaust fumes, noise, and maintenance, this is a disadvantage for a gas-powered commercial pressure washer, the noise, the fumes and the time it takes the maintain them are all things you don’t have to worry about with an electric model. A gas engine is much louder than an electric one, and the exhaust gases make it impractical to use these indoors. Lastly maintaining the engine (oil, fuel, gasoline stabilizers) while not complicated is an added job.

Electric Commercial Pressure Washers

Some people prefer electric models over gas. Electric models are very versatile, quite in comparison to gasoline, no fumes, and no engine maintenance! Plus they can be more eco-friendly.

  • Less noise and no exhaust fumes, electric motors, while they produce less power than a gas engine, they make less noise and are perfect for use in commercial kitchens. With no fuel being burned there are no exhaust fumes
  • Low maintenance requirements, Gas engines are known for being somewhat needy, oil, fuel, etc. electric motors, on the other hand, require very little assistance. The majority are oil-free, you just need to make sure you don’t overwork the machine.
  • Electric outlet, a significant downside to electric high pressure washers is that they must have an electrical outlet nearby, this is their life cord without it they just don’t run.

Commercial Pressure Washer Buying Guide

So now you know all you need to about commercial pressure washers, the differences between the gas and their electric counterparts.

Amazon product

I’ve taken you through their strengths, their fuel sources, but it’s now time to look at the intricacies of the parts, features, and specifications. These are things you should know about before you decide which model to purchase, you want to match these to your needs.

In today’s market, there are a whole range of models and each and every one of them has their own combination of features. So pay attention and make a checklist of what you need.

Overall Strength and Cleaning Power

A common mistake I see when people are purchasing a high pressure power washer is focusing solely on those big numbers.

Don’t take this the wrong way, I think power is great but there is more to a pressure washer than just it’s cleaning power.

Pressure washer power can be measured by using several methods. Firstly there’s the engine/motor horsepower rating or the wattage/amperage of an electric motor.

Then there are 3 other numbers, PSI (pounds per square inch), GPM (gallons per minute), and CP (Cleaning Power).

You get CP by multiplying PSI x GPM.

CP can vary from a few thousand to tens of thousands, but what does it all mean? With a reliable pressure washer, you will be able to remove ten-year-old stains out of your driveway, but if the washer has no proper pressure adjustment module, you will most likely destroy wooden surfaces.

If you don’t need to remove those hardcore stains or strip paint, then perhaps you want to focus on something in the middle of the group.

If, however, you are dealing with grease and dirt on hard surfaces, then the more powerful the washer the better really.

Portability

All commercial pressure washers come with a hose, which is usually 50 feet+, but the overall weight and wheel system affects how portable these units are.

Commercial grade units tend to vary between 40-300+ pounds, so before you decide on a model, make sure you factor in its weight and your terrain.

If you have a flat yard, then a heavy unit won’t be a problem, but if your terrain is rougher, trying to navigate a 130+ pound machine is going to be a struggle.

Bear in mind that the weight of a unit is just one part of the equation, the wheel system is incredibly important, providing the pressure washer has a decent 2 or 4 wheel system, then moving it around the toughest and roughest terrains will actually be simple.

Even more so when you get a pressure washer with “never flat” wheels.

Storage

Having a mighty and powerful commercial pressure washer is great. Still, if you can’t store it, that’ll be a problem as no matter if it’s electric or gasoline-powered, your pressure washer will need to be stored correctly; otherwise, it’s lifespan drastically decreases.

Frame Build

Most commercial pressure washers are supported by a steel frame, depending on the type of unit it may well be a heavy-duty frame.

The frame serves as a support for both carrying and protecting the engine or motor. Large frames take up a lot of space.

Frame orientation

There are two common orientations, vertical (upright) or horizontal. Upright versions are much easier to store if you don’t have a large space to house it, However, if you have a large floor footprint, then horizontal versions won’t be a problem.

Versatility and Additional Features

No matter what version or model you choose, each will have its own feature combinations and no pressure washer has it all.

Once you’ve factored in fuel type, size, build, power and the rest of the basics. You then need to factor in the little features that make your life easy.

Auto shut-off function

Automatic shut off prevents the pressure washer from overheating or clogging up. This is primarily a safety feature, but it also saves you soap, gas and electricity.

Adjustable pressure

If you are looking to clean a wide range of surfaces and different materials then having a pressure washer where you can adjust the power output is ideal, there’s no point attempting to clean damaged wood with a pressure washer smashing it with 18000 cleaning power, it won’t clean it, it’ll obliterate it.

Spray Wands

Every model of pressure washer will come with a spray wand, but what you should look for is convenience, does it feel good in the hand, are the controls for controlling pressure on the handle. Having to walk back to the machine to change the pressure or get another nozzle is just a pain.

Spray Nozzles

Which spray nozzle tips come with the pressure washer? Or does is use a custom spray head?

When it comes to the classic set of spray nozzle tips, these are:

  • 0° nozzle – for highest pressure
  • 15° nozzle – for grills and resilient materials
  • 25° nozzle – for wooden surfaces and lighter materials
  • 40° nozzle – for watering plants, and light-duty work around the garden
  • Soap nozzle – specially designed for the usage of soap

Soap Tank

Does the pressure washer come with an onboard soap tank, and what size is it? The large the size of the tank the less frequent the need to refill.

But if you aren’t going to be using soaps and detergents, then having a soap tank won’t benefit you.

Safety Tips for Commercial Pressure Washing

“A double-check is a key to a long life”, this saying is common amongst those who use powerful machines for a good reason. Pressure washes, primarily those commercial-grade machines, can be extremely dangerous due to their power. Besides the raw pressure produced by these machines, there are other things you need to consider.

Check the Machine Before Starting

It doesn’t matter is the machine is a gas or electric model make sure that all connections are secure, make sure the engine is in a good state before you start.

If any part is damaged, including the hose, replaced it before washing.

Protective gear

Whether you are using a commercial or residential machine, you need to use safety goggles and heavy-duty gloves. One slip or a bit of debris ricocheting can cause irreversible damage. So protect yourself from head to toe.

Changing settings

If you run out of fuel of need to change the nozzle tip, you should turn off your pressure washer first.

Refueling while the engine is on can cause it to explode or cause damage to the engine.

Turn the engine off and allow it to cool down for a minute or two then start refueling.  Waiting won’t make a massive difference to your plans and will protect you from potential harm and expensive damage.

When it comes to changing the nozzles tip, you should never do this while the pressure washer is on, there are too many changes of the spray wand accidentally going off and the damage this can do to you, or anyone in its direct path… doesn’t bear thinking about.

So turn it off before changing the nozzles tip, change the nozzle then turn it back on.

Use both hands

People can underestimate the power of their spray wand and kickback when starting, so also use one hand; otherwise, there is a chance that the stream will end up going in a direction you didn’t intend, potentially hurting yourself, others or objects.

FAQ About Commercial Pressure Washers

Can I use my commercial pressure washer indoors?

It entirely depends on the washer, I don’t advise using a gas variant indoor’s. Gas models emit exhaust fumes that aren’t healthy as they contain carbon monoxide, which is highly poisonous.

Electric models are safe to use indoors, as long as you use it safely and not near unprotected electrical outlets.

Can commercial pressure washers damage paint coating on metal and wooden surfaces?

Yes, like residential models, the high-pressure versions can easily damage paint, wooden surfaces and even dent your car, just before the paint is removed, that is.

I cannot stress how powerful some of these commercial variants can be, the numbers are impossible to imagine.

But that doesn’t mean you can’t use a commercial pressure washer on these surfaces, use the right distance between the nozzles tip and surface you are cleaning, select the right spray nozzle tip and if your pressure washer supports it, adjust the power output.

How do I store my gasoline-powered commercial pressure washer?

A lot of people make the mistake of leaving fuel and oil in the engine when they are storing them for long periods, such as over winter.

You should always follow the instruction manual about winterizing your pressure washer. But one common thing is that you should empty out the fuel and oil.

Fuel is organic and can go stale, and stale fuel can damage your engine.

How much pressure should I use?

For industrial use, it entirely depends on the job, electric ones aimed at being used to wash windows or kitchens don’t need a huge amount of water.

Dealing with graffiti, chewing gum etc, then you’ll need at least 3000 PSI.

What are the functional differentiation’s between cold and hot commercial pressure washer?

When a surface isn’t sticky or covered in grease, then a cold water pressure washer is ideal. Tough stains can be dealt with, by spraying with detergent.

If you have oil, dirt, grease, then hot water will blast straight through those.

After all, investing some extra funds in getting a commercial-grade machine is often worth it, and this guide is there for that exact reason: to help you find the best commercial pressure washer.

If you haven’t already, I urge you to go through the commercial pressure washer reviews above and find a machine that matches your needs. There’s a lot to go through, so take your time.

Personally, I advise the Lifan 4515 as a commercial gas pressure washer, the Sun Joe SPX9009-PRO for an electric model and if you need a hot water variant then the AR Annovi Reverberi AR630TSS-HOT is perfect
