This is another versatile detector in my list of laser level detectors. The DeWalt DW0772 laser detector can detect laser beams over a distance of more than 1000 feet. This can deliver readings within an accuracy of 1/25-inch (1mm).
This laser detector features dual LCD displays, which means that you can read results from both sides of the detector. This is a convenient feature as you can read the results, whether you are in front of or behind the detector.
It features a heavy-duty clamp that can be mounted to a high-grade rod or site staff, it’s been designed to be incredibly durable, so it can stand up to the rigors of an active construction site.

The Leica RVL100 is compatible for use with the Lecia LINO series of line lasers. It can accurately detect red pulsed laser signals even up to distances of up to 200 feet, even when the beam is invisible to the eye.
This device is not able to detect laser dots but works perfectly well with pulsed laser lines.
It has a 42mm (1.65 in) detection window. This is a reasonably large reception window and allows the device to detect laser signals promptly, and the audio and visual signals help with the detection of the laser plane.

The laser detector detects pulsed lines that are emitted from the PLS brand of laser levels quickly and accurately when you’ve put the PLS pulse tools onto “exterior” mode.
The detection range offered by the Pacific Laser System device is up to 200 feet. This is incredibly easy to operate thanks to its large buttons, which are lined up to the specific operations on the side of the display.

Johnson Level and tool is a heavy-weight in the manufacturing of construction measuring tools, and this tool from this very well established brand is perfect for use in conjunction with any rotary laser level.
The 40-6720 can quickly and easily detect laser beams from any rotary level on the market, and the detection range of this detector can reach as far as 300 feet.
The clamp that’s included can be attached to leveling staff or grading rods. It has front and rear displays. The features of this Johnson laser detector makes it perfect for construction projects.
This has audio and visual detection indicators, which makes using this level precise and easy.
This features fine and course (narrow and wide) detection settings, which helps you take precise and accurate readings, also it features an automatic shut down after a period of non-use, which helps conserve battery life.
The bulky size of this and the fact it doesn’t include any magnetic mounting brackets make this rather unstable for indoor use, and you don’t need the wide range of detection settings that add to its price for solely indoor use.
This is only designed for large construction and outdoor projects. If those aren’t what you are working on, it doesn’t make sense to waste your money on a tool like this.

Laser Detector Receiver Buyers Guide
There are a few key factors that I feel are important to consider when finding the right laser detector to suit what I am working on, as well as matching perfectly with my laser level.
First and foremost is the compatibility, although there are some options out there that work with all wavelength, most laser detectors are limited to very particular wavelengths. You need to make absolutely sure that the two products your laser level and the laser detector are working on the same wavelength.
If they aren’t, then you are going to have connection problems, which will result in either the detector not helping at all or getting inaccurate measurements.
The detecting range is the next thing I look for, which kind of explains itself. But depending on your worksite, you need to ensure that you get a detector that has enough range when paired with your laser level to reach the entire distance.
Then I look for the type of indicator, this falls into two main categories. Audio and visual. Choose whichever suits you for being alerted to when you are at the right grade/level.
Settings & precision
Finally, the last thing I look for is the settings, the more precisely you can control the settings, the more expensive the detector will be.
What is a Laser Level Detector?
The name kind of gives it away, really. Just like a stud finder that looks for studs in walls, your laser level detector is a tool that is designed to help you find a laser beam from your laser level.
This allows a contractor to be able to “see” the beams when the conditions aren’t ideal so that measurements can still be taken for projects on a job site. These also help a contractor to quickly find the appropriate measures and ensure’s that the project continues to flow rapidly and efficiently.
They also ensure that you can measure great distances, distances that a typical laser level alone can’t reach.
