I don’t know about you, but I’ve hung many pictures over the years, I’ve come up with multiple ways to do the job.
Yet somehow I always tend to notice that one picture is out only a fraction, but it’s not in line with all the others and my eye spots it, and once that’s been seen, it cannot be unseen.
If your in a hurry, the Bosch GLL 1P is my top laser level for hanging pictures
I am sure you will agree that it is always annoying to see a picture frame that seems to hang just a bit crooked. No matter how many times you try to rectify it, doing the needful manually just does not work. Taking a step back and realizing that you will have to do it all over again can be very frustrating.
But it does not always have to be this way, regardless of how challenging you may think it is.
You can easily tackle this problem the right way if you are equipped with a handy laser level. If you are a newbie, then this article is just what you need to find the perfect solution to your problem.
What Is A Laser Level All About?
Basically, a laser level is a tool that has been designed to make hanging pictures a really fast, easy, and accurate task.
As of now, there are plenty of different laser level models available in the market. And all of them have different features, prices, and weaknesses that can make it awfully hard to figure out if you are getting a really nifty deal or alternatively, making a purchase that you might come to regret.
I want you to be sufficiently well versed in ‘laser level’ lore about the various makes and models so that you will be able to buy what you need with complete confidence.
I have chosen the various laser levels on this list based on their capacity to help you hang that perfectly straight picture frame, the very first time over. However, you can use them for a variety of purposes from aligning your fence and deck to checking the exact height of your kitchen cabinets.
The ones with the largest numbers of features are, of course, more expensive, but in the end, they are all great value for money. Especially since they hold up over time and ‘always’ remain unerringly accurate.
Is it easy to use?
Typically there are usually only two buttons that you need to press. Simply set up your level, line it up with the location you are looking to hang your pictures and it’ll cast a straight line level line.
Do note that some laser levels are NOT auto-leveling, so make sure to check the bubble spirit level which is integrated into your device to ensure that it’s level.
Then turn it on, and the projector should cast a laser beam across the room that’s perfectly level, making your job of hanging pictures a breeze!
Which type should I choose?
Personally, I go for the best I can afford, this way not only does the tool do the job I need it to right now, but it will continue to perform in the future regardless of the task thrown at it.
But as we are talking about hanging pictures, we don’t want to go ultra-fancy, so I’ve put together a list of about 7 devices which will work fantastically for all your DIY needs.
I don’t want you to stress over which to purchase, they are all excellent and will do the job well. But to make your life easier, my personal favorite of the bunch is the Bosch GLL 1P.
Well then, let’s just get started, shall we?
What to look for in a laser level for hanging pictures, shelves, curtains and more?
For simple tasks such as this, we don’t need to go and buy the top-rated green laser level. But you are still going to want to look out for certain features which make this job as easy as possible
Are batteries needed to run this laser level? If so, are they included, are they rechargeable? There’s nothing worse than going home expecting the laser level just to work when you need to supply batteries, and you have none in the house.
Can the laser level attach to the wall?
I prefer a laser level that I can attach to a wall, this makes the job much easier, giving you’re the freedom to move around and not worry about balancing the laser level somewhere or purchasing a tripod.
Some laser levels come with a suction cup which makes it a breeze to attach to the wall, others come with a tripod which is usually sold separately)
Is this a well-known brand
Take this from a pro, do not waste your money on cheap tools. They never last, so you end up purchasing another tool a few months down the line, that’s just a waste, invest in quality now, and you won’t regret it later.
This article is about hanging things such as pictures, you don’t want to be spending $1,000 on a top-quality laser level that could be used in the construction industry.
This is one of the most simple tasks a laser level will accomplish, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t invest in the tool, but don’t go overboard, focus on the fact that you will be doing little projects and DIY jobs about the house and go for a laser level which excels at those tasks.
You are looking for something about $100 at most.
