The (at the time of writing) best selling table saw on Amazon, the DeWalt DWE7491RS, it’s only right that we review this amazing table saw.
With the DW745 being discontinued, this is the 10-inch jobsite table saw of choice within the DeWalt brand for me; though it always was, this is a seriously impressive job site table saw, one that has a powerful motor that is capable of rivaling a cabinet saw. Thanks to its 10″ blade, it has a large rip capacity, more rip capacity than the DWE7485; it also comes with a mobile wheeled stand.
This is one of those contractor saws that you really shouldn’t ignore; if you are on the fence about buying this, get off that damn fence! This is a seriously impressive job site saw; hell, this is one of the best table saws, and you won’t regret purchasing it; I’ll prove that in this DeWalt DWE7491RS review.
If you want the best job site saw while keeping that wider rip capacity, then look no further than the DeWalt DWE7491RS 10 inch job site table saw.

DeWalt DWE7491RS Applications
This is a highly versatile table saw which can achieve a huge number of jobs while still being a jobsite table saw; in a lot of ways, it punches like a cabinet saw, which is a lot to say for a DeWalt table miter saw.
DeWalt themselves suggests this wide range of applications:
Cabinet Installers: ripping filler boards
Hardwood Floor Installers: ripping floorboards
Trim Carpenters: ripping moldings, wainscoting, ripping and crosscuts of 1 X material for framing bookshelves and entertainment centers, ripping framing lumber
Deck Builders: ripping deck boards, rail cap, railing
Remodelers: ripping framing lumber, sheet material (4′ X 8′)
Serious Woodworkers and home hobbyists: ripping sheet material (4′ X 8′), framing lumber, 2″ X 12″), sizing material up to 3″ thick, ripping and cross-cutting 1X material used for dados, rabbets, mortise, and tenons.
Powerful, innovative features, and portable!
The DeWalt DWE7491RS table saw is an excellent job site table saw. Personally, this is the best overall jobsite + mobile stand option on the market. This is quite a bold statement considering the options from Bosch and SawStop table saws, and I love a SawStop table saw.
But this opinion is based on the combination of build quality, the power output, its cut capacity, ability to take a dado stack, and the fact that it is an all-around mobile power horse.
Performance
The DWE7491rs 10 inch performs incredibly well; the rack and pinion fence is key to this table saw, its accurate cuts, and its overall performance. The rack and pinion gears make adjusting the rack and pinion fence system incredibly easy while maintaining accuracy.
This unique fence design rides on rails at both the back and the front of the table saw, which helps to eliminate the possibility of fence drift. You also get a miter gauge included with the table saw, and well, it’s not all that great; it does get the job done.
The DeWalt Dwe7491rs table saw also includes the site pro system, which means that switching the various safety features around it can be done quickly easy and, most importantly, tool-free.
For saws to do the general job well, they need to be able to accommodate a wide range of materials across a range of different sizes, and this is exactly what the DWE7491rs can do with its wide material support while retaining accurate cuts.
Power
The DWE7491rs 10 inch jobsite table saws powerful 15 amp motor, which now features an increased speed over previous models of 4,800 RPM, offers an improved ripping quality with less chance of burn. This 15 amp motor provides enough power to easily cut through 3/4″ plywood, various framing materials, and even some maple.
Dewalt DWE7491RS Stand
I have to say that this rolling stand is one of the better ones I’ve had the pleasure of using; it’s very easy to set up and very strong and sturdy. A feature I love is that this DeWalt Table Saw rolling stand stores vertically in a nice compact configuration.
The stand is well worth the small additional cost over the DWE7490 particular model, which has the scissor stand.
Material And Durability
DeWalt has created the DWE7491RS portable table saw with longevity and convenience in mind. The saw uses a 24 tooth carbide blade which provides a higher precision than a regular steel blade and lasts much longer as well, even when accidentally run through the best wood screws.
Plus, this saw, which is a feature I truly love, is compatible with a dado blade.
The largely steel build of this saw is accompanied by some plastic parts, which isn’t perfect.
Features
Another thing that I love about this table saw is that the DWE7491rs is packed with features, features that are often found on much more expensive shop table saws.
On/Off switch
This table saw features an on-off switch which has a protective cage and lever; this lever/cover has to be lifted up to be able to turn on the saw and to shut it off, you bump the lever pad with your knee or any other body part that can reach this is a great safety feature, it’s one of those basic safety features that I wish more table saws and power tools featured.
Flip over rip fence
This is an incredibly cool feature that provides two benefits; when you want to make those narrow cuts, you can flip the rip fence over so that it doesn’t interfere with the blade guard assembly; without this feature, the blade guard would need to be removed. Which, for safety reasons, isn’t ideal.
When ripping those wide boards, you can flip the rip fence over again and lock it into its lower position to support the workpiece.
Accessories and in-built storage system
DeWalt makes a lot of effort when it comes to onboard storage. There’s been a large amount of effort to make sure everything, even the power cord, is easy to store.
One of my pet peeves on a jobsite is asking the crew where they left the blade guard. This is something that usually get’s removed for cross cutting or when cutting dado’s, and for whatever reason when those tasks are done, the guard is never put back on the jobsite table saw…
Having the dedicated on board storage with a dedicated location for the guard makes this much less likely to happen. There’s also a place for the blade wrenches, riving knife, miter gauge, and anti-kickback knives.
Site pro modular guard system
The site pro system allows for tool-free installation of the blade guard, throat plate, and the riving knife. You can then make adjustments quickly and easily using a level at the front of the table saw.
Dust Collection
These sawdust ports are often overlooked on saws, but we all know how much of a mess these power tools can and do make, which is why safety goggles are recommended by my team.
Most people choose portable package table saws to set up outdoors to mitigate the lengthy cleanup, but a sawdust collection system is the most important part.
The DeWalt DWE7491rs jobsite table saw has not one dust port but a total of two dust ports; the first is located above the guard, the second is located below the table.
The one at the rear of the jobsite table saw is a 2-1/2″ sawdust port that connects to an area just below the blade, which is fairly typical. When attached to a job site vacuum such as my, The DWE7485 has a 2 1/2 inch dust port which will fit many shop vacs such as my Bosch shop vac VAC140A dust extractor, this sawdust port is very effective, collecting around 80% of the dust produced.
The sawdust port on the guard features a smaller 1-1/4″ dust port, which allows for any dust above the table top to be collected; this can be a bit of a hassle to use.
The first problem I faced was trying to hook this into the dust collection port on my dust extraction system. I used a Y connector with a hose to tee off for the bottom and the top and then some adapters to get to the right connection sizes; it works, but it’s fiddly, and things got in the way of my rips, so I’ve abandoned the top port for now.
Its dust collection is as good if not better than most other table saws, especially job site table saws.
Rip Capacity of DeWalt DWE7491RS
I have to say that this DeWalt DWE7491RS portable saw leads the industry for the cut capacity on a jobsite table saw.
This jobsite table saw offers an impressive 32-1/2 inch rip capacity, that’s a rather impressive max rip capacity; this capacity is to the right of the blade, the increased rip capacity will no doubt cause competitors to match in time.
The rack and pinion fence system is rather unique with its flip-over fence attachment that serves two functions.
One feature I love is that it creates a really sturdy support for wide materials when the saw is set up to rip materials wider than the saw’s table top. This flip fence allows you to cut those really wide materials, and yet the saw remains nice and compact when it’s stored.
Its 32 1/2 inch rip fence is telescoping, which can extend 32 inches to the right and 22 inches to the left side, which gives you plenty of room to work with.
DWE7491RS Mobile Roller Stand
The rolling stand, which comes as standard with the DWE7491rs 10-inch portable table saw, is incredibly effective and really easy to use. One of my biggest concerns, when I buy a jobsite table saw is its mobility and ease of set up for a single person.
Weighing 90 lbs, this isn’t the easiest to lift alone and can potentially cause a serious lifting injury. The fact that this works so well and can be used by a single person is fantastic and a huge benefit in my mind.
The stand is one of the easiest stands I’ve ever set up. To fold the stand, you single stand the saw up onto its end. The four legs then fold down by releasing the easy-to-use levers. It honestly takes less than a minute to set up and tear down, and there are no tools required. The large wheels and comfortable height handle make rolling the saw and stand super easy.
It’s a huge benefit that this wheeled stand is included and not sold separately,
Dewalt DWE7491RS Accessories
Other than the saw itself, you have the blade, the push stick, the miter gauge, blade guard assembly, and of course, the rolling stand. Although the saw can accommodate a dado blade, you need to purchase the dado throat plate separately.
This particular table saw model comes with onboard storage. Having the on-board storage space gives you easy access to things like the wrenches you need, push stick, miter gauge, and anything else the model comes with. The onboard storage is also an excellent solution to store your power cable.
Safety Features
A Safety feature is another important feature to consider when operating a large tool such as a table saw like the high-powered DW745 and DWE7485. You must make sure you have the proper gear, including gloves and eye protection.
What safety features does the Dewalt table saw itself include?
The saw comes with a push stick to keep your fingers away from the blade and a blade guard.
Warranty
The Dewalt brand offers a generous 30-day money-back guarantee with up to a 3-year limited warranty.
Final thoughts
I hope I’ve managed to convey this in this DeWalt DWE7491RS review, but this is one of the best jobsite table saws I’ve ever used. Partially because of its huge powerful motor, which makes cutting workpieces feel like a hot knife through butter, something I’ve not noticed often with other tools.
It also has the largest rip capacity on the market with 32-1/2 inch rip capacity and, in my opinion, the best built-in stand.
Most importantly, the DWE7491rs 10-inch jobsite table saw is incredibly accurate and very well built; yes, the miter gauges aren’t the best, so an upgrade makes sense.
My other drawbacks are that it could do a bit better with dust collection or at least offer better options for the blade dust collection, perhaps offering a splitter and how accessory package. The other is the plastic parts on the fence where it connects to the table. I suspect they may break if you are much too rough with the tool. Though that’s a minor thing, you really should take care of your tools.
If you want one of the best saws on the market, then this really is a choice for you.
