Husqvarna 240 Chainsaw Overview
It’s Powerful
Look, I’ll level with you. This isn’t one of the most powerful chainsaws out there. It has a rather modest 2 HP engine, with 38.2 cc engine displacement. It has a 14 inch 2-cycle saw chain. As I said, it’s not a powerful chainsaw.
But this little chainsaw, while it isn’t designed for heavy-duty works or for those professional applications. It is made for light works, cutting small trees, cutting softwoods, or cutting small branches off large trees.
This was made for house owners, who need a light saw for simple wood-cutting around the house. Also, this saw is a fantastic performer for those types of simple jobs and is capable of doing these jobs perfectly. So while it’s not powerful, it’s a very powerful model for light-works. So from that angle, it’s a powerful chain saw.
It’s Lightweight
The Husqvarna 240 weighs only 10.3 pounds; this is very compact, coming in at 19x10x13.3 inches in dimensions.
Making this incredibly portable and easy to carry around the yard. You won’t have any issues moving this saw across your yard to finish whatever you are working on.
That’s to its compact size it’s really easy to store, it only takes up a small amount of space in your garage. This is a chainsaw that you can put away and forget about, thanks to its small size. Hopefully, you remember where you left it the next time you need it!
While this is designed for light work, it’s actually quite capable of doing the medium type of jobs. This saw is pretty impressive for those medium-duty jobs. Thanks to its lightweight, it’s easy to carry around when you need it.
User-Friendly
The Husqvarna 240 comes with Husqvarna’s “X-Torq® engine” technology. This is some really effective technology. This tech makes the motor extremely fuel-efficient. This technology also reduces toxic emissions production. What I love the most, asides from the cost-saving from the lower fuel consumption. Is that this technology helps start the motor almost immediately when yanked. This is a great advantage over other chainsaws, which need a few yanks to get started.
The most I’ve ever need for the Husqvarna 240 is 2 pulls. I think that’s great. It makes this easy to start and incredibly user-friendly. Some have found that it can be hard to start when trying to start this for the first time. Personally, that wasn’t an issue for me; as soon as I put some oil and gas in, I gave the starter cord a yank, and it started.
If you do have any trouble, these saws always start if you prime and choke. Sometimes using half choke is more than enough to get it started.
Once you’ve taken a few seconds to adjust the idle and carburetor, this is a fantastic saw. Which needs very little equipment to maintain, which I found helpful as I needed to carry less around with me. And less equipment means more portability.
On top of that, this X-Torq® technology is equipped with a stop-controlling system. This ensures the safety of the engine and reduces the risk of oil flooding your engine. The result of this is that the engine lasts longer, another helpful feature.
This model also offers a low and anti-vibration feature; this helpful feature helps with the accuracy of your desired cuts as lower vibration means more precise cuts. Still, also you can operate it for longer use without your hands feeling all funny.
Comfortable to Use
Big, heavy, and vibration-producing saws are hard to handle and rather uncomfortable. For those who are non-professional users, it’s a big disadvantage going big.
Thankfully the Husqvarna 240 is small in size, lightweight, and produces low vibration thanks to its anti-vibration system. This is a saw that you can use with comfort. This model has been designed specifically for light tasks and non-professional users. Thanks to this, it has amazing user-friendly features.
Easy to Maintain
When you use a chainsaw, its air intake can get full of flying debris clogging up the air filter. This debris takes a fair amount of effort to clean, and you have to clean it to keep your saw’s performance.
The Husqvarna 240 offers an air injection centrifugal air cleaning system; this means that those flying debris caught before they even enter the air intake reduces the likelihood that your air filter will get clogged. Thanks to this, the air intake of the saw is less dirty and much easier to maintain.
If you need to remove the debris from the saw, it’s just a quick snap to remove them, meaning that this saw requires little maintenance.
It also features a quick-adjust tensioning system.
Sometimes your chain brake can get stuck, or the chain brake can even get locked. Thankfully resetting the chain brake is a simple task, and this video shows you how to rest the Husqvarna chain brake
Safe
Safety comes first with everything in life for me. A chain saw can be an incredibly dangerous tool, so safety needs to be at the forefront of your mind.
This model of chainsaw is designed with safety in mind. The chain bar of this saw has been designed to reduce kickback. Thanks to this, you can use this saw more freely without a worry, though always be safe.
This is an important feature that has been well implemented in this chainsaw and keeps the user safe.
Price
Price is a very important factor in any product. I’m happy to pay more for a quality product, but it has to be quality. I want value for money. This is where the Husqvarna 240 has a great advantage. This chain saw is an entry-level saw which comes at a very affordable price. The Husqvarna 240 is designed to be a household power tool, and it’s well worth the price you pay. This is a worthwhile investment.
Other Features and accessories
