Ryobi RY141900 Pressure Washer In Action

This model from Ryobi is powered by a powerful 13-amp electric motor. You’ll see in the user manual, that the motor and the pump can produce up to 2,000 PSI of force, at 1.2 gallons per minute. That’s some good pressure.

That’s considered to be medium to heavy-duty pressure washing, those figures combined to give this unit a total cleaning power of 2400!

I’ve tested this model on multiple surfaces and I certainly challenged it with various types of stains. One, in particular, was a BBQ grease accident that my wife wasn’t too happy about, so did it fix it? Let’s find out.

The second you look at this pressure washer, you know it’s a Ryobi tool, and you can also see that Ryobi is a top-notch power tool manufacturer. Just look at it’s simple, yet slightly industrial features and modern color. Ryobi really stands out from its competition thanks to this.

The body of this unit is mounted onto two wheels, this makes this quote a portable pressure washer. It weighs only 32 pounds, pair that with the wheels and mobility isn’t a problem.

The electric motor and hose reel is mounted onto a steel frame, which has a large handle for added convenience when you need to carry this pressure washer around.

Ryobi RY141900 buyers guide

Just below the handle is a cracking little storage nook for your quick-connect nozzles.

Ryobi has provided three nozzle tips with this RY141900, the 15-degree yellow tip nozzle, a black soap nozzle, and the turbo nozzle. These three are perfect for typical residential tasks, though I personally prefer to have a full set myself.

The RY141900 also has an onboard pressure washer detergent tank, this soap tank can hold 1-gallon of detergent or soap, that’s more than enough for any cleaning job.

using the soap quick-connect nozzle and soap tank makes for some powerful cleaning when it comes to dirty windows, cars and… BBQ grease stains.

You’ll have no problems reaching those far corners in your card with this pressure washer, it comes equipped with a 25 foot-long high-pressure, non-marring hose, this is a really durable hose that will last you a good while, even more so as you can easily store this on the built-in hose reel when it’s not in use. You also get a 35 feet long power cord, that’s huge!

The pressure generated by the motor and pump is enough to challenge any cleaning job you are going to throw at it, though I really liked how well this cleaned my windows, wood fence & deck, driveway, and concrete floors.

The turbo nozzle ended up being incredibly handy for dealing with more challenging dirt across various surfaces. Just bear in mind that you don’t always have to use it, as the turbo nozzle can cause damage to fragile and breakable surfaces with the high-pressure rotating stream that it produces.

One annoyance is that you can only use the hose reel when the power washer isn’t in use, this means that when you want to use your pressure washer, you have to unwind and get the whole hose out before cleaning can start.

What to Tackle With This 2,000 PSI Ryobi Washer?

Even though this is considered a medium-duty pressure washer, it has no problem tackling some of the nastiest stains with great success.

That BBQ Grease stain? What BBQ grease stain more like!

I found this was best used on Wood, marble, glass, patio and garden furniture, house siding (though use a siding cleaner), and outdoor power tools.

I even used it with a pressure washer sand blaster to remove some rust from a wheelbarrow, made easy work of that.

Ryobi RY141900 pressure washer uses

This will clean moss, grime, dirt, and dust, it’ll clean your bbq grills and other greasy equipment. Just remember to be careful around those more sensitive areas, because they can be damaged by this pressure washer.

Oh and if needed you can use soap, and I did to wash my car and bicycle though it’s not limited to just those you can use pressure washer soap on other recreational equipment. Especially if you left it out and the local birds have used it for target practice.

Pros

This Ryobi electric pressure washer is quite portable and very comfortable to use, if you have to do a longer cleaning session around the yard, this makes a good companion. Its housing is durable and protects the electric motor and the price-to-power ratio is spot on.

I love the 1-gallon detergent tank and handy spray nozzle storage as well.

Cons

Having to unwind the entire hose to use it.. sucks.

Being an all electric-powered medium-duty pressure washer, this 2000 PSI pressure washer just cannot clean those old dried in stubborn stains. It’ll improve them by removing much of it, but that outline, it’ll just grin at you smugly. For those, a 3000 PSI pressure washer or a gas pressure washer is your best bet.
