Sun Joe is a tool manufacturer that produces some of the most reliable pressures washers on the market. They have a wide variety of power washers that will answer all of your cleaning jobs.
I’m going to provide you with an honest and unbiased Sun Joe SPX3001 review, hopefully guiding you and providing you with all the information you need to know whether to by this model, the SPX3001 SunJoe or purchase the very similar SPX3000 model, I’ll take you through the differences between these as well.
Sun Joe SPX3001 Specifications
I feel we have to start with the power of this Sun Joe model. It packs a punch thanks to its 14.5 amp /1800-Watt electric motor. This motor can produce up to 2030 pounds per square inch (PSI) at 1.76 gallons per minute (GPM) water flow rate.
These figures give this pressure washer a total cleaning power of 3572, that’s insane! So I had to test this, because sometimes medium-duty pressure washer can surprise you with their versatility, which with this power washer, SunJoe take pride in.
The look of this pressure washer is a simple, yet modern look, with its green-colored parts and slim frame. This unit belongs in a group of power tools where everything is result-orientated; it’s refreshing to see the innovation in the design.
This unit weighs around 36 pounds, and thanks to the way the housing of this pressure washer is set up with it’s two large rear plastic wheels. It’s an incredibly portable pressure washer. I had no problem moving this around every type of floor I could find.
When testing this, one thing that proved to be incredibly useful was the 34-inch long extension wand. You don’t usually get these included with your pressure washer; they’re often an optional extra.
You attach the extension wand to the 20 foot-long high-pressure hose, and in doing so, you can cover a massive area in one go. I loved being able to clean the second story windows and blast the crud out of my gutters.
Now, if this unit wasn’t portable enough already, this comes with 35 feet of power cord.
The SPX3001 features Sun Joes Total Stop System (TSS) what this does, is when you release the trigger on your spray gun, it turns the pump off entirely, saving you money but also prolonging the life of the pressure washer.
By turning the pump off, there are no worries of overheating as most pumps are cooled by the flow of water through them if you aren’t spraying there’s no flow of water.
You get 5 quick connect nozzles, a 0-degree (red nozzle), 15-degree (yellow nozzle), 25-degree (green nozzle), and 40-degree (white nozzle), plus the black soap nozzle.
There wasn’t a job or surface I couldn’t clean with the wide variety of nozzles that come as standard. As for the soap nozzle, that was incredibly handy as I ended up using some pressure washer detergent to deal with a stain I had in my concrete, how did I use this detergent? Well, this model comes with a 40.6-oz detergent tank, so if you need to add additional chemicals and agents to aid in your cleaning, this has you covered.
You also get a built-in onboard high-pressure hose reel!
SPX3001 vs. SPX3000
There are a few differences between the SPX3000 and this model, and the first lies in the hose reel which it’s onboard the SPX3001, this isn’t something you’ll find on the SPX3000, it adds to the convenience factor and makes storing this pressure cleaner just a little bit easier.
The hose reel of this model is exceptionally compact, barely taking up any room, and you only have to unwind what you need so that any extra hose can be kept out of the way on the reel.
As you can store the hose, power cord, and all accessories onboard, this washer can be much more tightly packed away when it’s not in use, and the hose reel ensures that your high-pressure hose is well protected from kicks and marring.
This, I loved about the hose reel… my hose wasn’t being tangled up in the garden hose feeding the pressure cleaner and the power cord, usually as I am cleaning a car, for example, I’ll end up tripping over the mess of cables, this didn’t happen with this model.
Warranty Policy and Customer Support

When you browse the units on Sun Joes support platform, they suggest a range of detergents that work well with this washer, which is handy, though they will guide you to their offerings.. so expect to pay a bit more.

What to Expect From SPX3001?
This pressure washer absolutely dominated everything I threw at it. It didn’t matter whether it was dirt, grease, moss, oil, and even some sturdier heavy stains that have been lying around in the sun for a while.
I thoroughly enjoyed washing my car with this pressure washer, and it did a fantastic job of cleaning all my wooden items, including fence, decking, and garden furniture. This is one of the best electric pressure washers.
Seasonal washing around my yard and my house siding was handled with relative ease. I even had a stab at pressure washing a rug. Yeah, no problem with this pressure washer.
I also pair this with one of the best pressure washer sandblasting kits and went to work on an old wheelbarrow, and this quickly removed the rust and paint, ready for a new coat of paint to protect it from water.
- For me, one of the biggest pros of the SPX3001 is its mobility and versatility.
- For an electric pressure washer, the cleaning power of this thing is one of the best you can get, and it doesn’t an amazing job.
- If you have a large area to cover, this pressure washer isn’t going to have a problem
- The soap dispenser is fantastic
This isn’t a pressure washer that will do everything. It’s limited by its electric motor.
It’s also just a residential machine, so intended for light to medium-duty cleaning tasks if you need something more serious you should check out my gasoline-powered pressure washer review.
Regardless of your personal needs, this model is going to help you achieve any cleaning job you have in mind. The SunJoe company has some solid recommendations, and this specific model is a very well-made medium-duty pressure washer. Which is also fairly affordable, and has straightforward assembly.
It’s important to remember that while this famous electric pressure washer will not be able to attack the hardest and toughest of stains, it will work very well with seasonal dirt and regular cleaning, plus if you spill oil and grease, this will get that up, should you to it quickly enough.
There you have it, all the essentials of this model packed into a brief Sun Joe SPX3001 review. I hope this has helped in deciding to buy this pressure washer, if not or you have any questions, let me know in the comments second below.
