Lucas Xtra Heavy Duty Grease

  • Farm / Shop Supplies Fluids/Chemicals/Oil/Additives Grease
  • All Brand new & rebuilt items comes with 1 year warranty.

The main reason to use Lucas Xtra Heavy Duty Grease over the Red n Tacky grease is that it is better at surviving at higher temperatures. If you need a grease that’s going to last longer than your regular grease, then this is a good heavy duty grease to go for.

If you use Red n Tacky on bearings and other machinery that is going to experience extremely high temperatures, then you are going to have issues, the grease is going to melt at those high temperatures. That’s not the case if you use the Xtra Heavy Duty grease, it’s been specially designed to survive in those extremely high-temperature environments.

Also, asides from handling those high temp environments, this heavy-duty grease is going to last longer than regular grease, it’s been designed to be heavy-duty, and as such it has no problems standing up to abuse, so you will reduce toe need to continually change greases, which is a common problem with ‘normal’ grease.

This is best for: Heavy-duty machinery, High-temperature environments, high-speed bearings

Lucas Oil Marine Grease

  • Brand: Tie Down Engineering
  • Part Number: 11008
  • Lucas Marine Grease 14 Oz

Like the other greases, this grease describes it’s main use in its name. It’s been specifically designed for use in marine and underwater use.

While other types of grease won’t wear away if they get wear from a rain shower, you need a special kind of lubricant to handle the underwater environment, so if your machinery or vehicle is going to be submerged underwater for extended periods, then you need a special marine grease.

I’ve used this for years as I find it’s ideal for my boat trailer, I found by using the Lucas Oil Marine Grease I didn’t have to regrease my trailer bearings as often. It lasts a good while, and it really does protect you from rust, regardless if you are submerging into freshwater or saltwater.

As marine grease go, this is the best one on the market.

This is best for: boat trailers

Wrap Up

These are three of the most popular greases that you’ll find on the market, and for a good reason, they excel in their applications.

They all have specific needs and uses, so it’s essential that you find the right grease for you, if you are after a general-purpose grease then I suggest getting Red n Tacky grease, that said there are circumstances where the other types of grease become a necessity.

If you are looking for a good brake grease, then I suggest you avoid Lucas Oil and go for another brand entirely. A brake grease needs to be designed explicitly for brakes, as many issues arise from using thicker lubricants like these listed above.
